BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - A four-hour man hunt is over after a bank robbery in Jackson, South Carolina.
Investigators say three men robbed the First Citizens Bank in Jackson. As of Wednesday night, two suspects are in jail and one is dead.
NBC Augusta 26 News was at the scene all day.
It all started a little after noon about a mile from Kimberly Clark Plant.
Investigators say three men crashed what they say was the getaway car with a bag full of money taken from First Citizens Bank of Jackson.
26 News cameras were rolling when the last suspect was caught at a family's home in the area and taken to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say he surrendered peacefully.
That wasn't the case for the other two suspects.
After running from the get away car, investigators say one suspect, Jilani Edwards fired a hand gun at a Jackson police officer. The officer shot back, killing Edwards. That's when the second suspect surrendered.
The man in the police car being taken to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office that was caught on video was the third suspect.
He was on the run for close to four hours.
Investigators tell 26 News they believe the man was armed with an AK 47.
SLED, FBI, Jackson Police, Aiken Public Safety, and RIchmond County's SWAT team all came to help with the man hunt.
The area is now clear for drivers.
Capt. Troy Elwell with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office tells 26 News there is a huge possibility that this robbery could be linked to other bank robberies in the Aiken County area.
SLED and the Aiken County coroner are now investigating the death of Edwards.
