Wrens shooting case could take months

WRENS, Ga. - It may take months, maybe even years for the Wrens County man accused of shooting another man running from police last week to get a trial.

Andrew Swan was released from prison on bond Monday.

He's charged with aggravated assault.

Investigators say he shot Brian Lane in the neck while Lane ran across Swan's property during a police chase last weekend.

Lane is still recovering in the hospital.

Deputies say he'll be charged with several traffic violations when he's released.

Jefferson County Court meets only three times a year, and they just finished up one trial.

So, it may take months to get to the cases for Swan and Lane.
