Governor Sanford returns to work

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has
returned to work, attending a closed briefing on port security.

Sanford did not meet with reporters after the briefing in North
Charleston with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano
(neh-pahl-ih-TAN'-oh) and Sen. Lindsey Graham on Project Seahawk, a
port security project.

But Graham said his good friend Sanford had a good weekend with
his family in Florida. Graham said he thinks Sanford can reconcile
with his family and the voters of South Carolina and finish the
last 18 months of his term.

Sanford spent the weekend visiting his wife and children. Jenny
Sanford and their sons went to her parents' home following
Sanford's confessions last month of an affair with a woman in
Argentina.
