South Carolina Republicans censure Governor Sanford

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Fellow Republicans have censured South Carolina Gov. Sanford for leaving the state last month on a secret trip to Argentina to meet his mistress.

The state GOP met for more than three hours by phone yesterday before 22 members of the executive committee voted on a formal reprimand of Sanford.

Sanford said in a statement that he appreciates the party's position and will continue to work to earn back its trust.

Although wrong what he did, he isn't the first dem or rep to do it, it is funny to me how people were backing Clinton with all his affairs and the Kennedy's with theirs. I agree that his staff should have known where he was but as far as the affair, that is between himself and his wife and God, not for anyone else to judge. Maybe he did find true love after he was already married and now he is stuck in a marriage where he is very unhappy, I feel sorry for him and his family.
