Thousands show up at job fair

AIKEN, S.C. - More than 4,300 people turned out for the Savannah River Site's job fair at Aiken Technical college on Tuesday.

SRS is hiring thousands of people using federal stimulus money it received.

During the past couple of months, SRS has hosted several job fairs that attracted thousands of people from all over the region.

The company says it's already started hiring, but wants to continue holding job fairs to give more people an opportunity to apply.

"We've added more than 700 employees already and they are actively working on the site today," said Clif Webb, SRS’s Director of Communications.

The next job fair will be in Augusta on July 20th at Paine College's gym from noon to three.
