Atlanta man sentenced for bank robberies

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - An Atlanta man has been sentenced to 48
years in prison for his role in a string of bank robberies in
Georgia and seven other states.

U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson also ordered 26-year-old Malik
Rahmel Dillard on Tuesday to pay $178,425 in restitution.

U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente says Dillard had pleaded guilty
earlier to two bank robbery counts and one conspiracy count.

Dillard, 35-year-old Sylvester Fred Mullins of McDonough, Ga.,
and Zarqurous Lequis Sanders were charged with robbing banks in
Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey,
Ohio and Tennessee last year.

Mullins was sentenced in May to five years and 11 months.
Sanders is scheduled to stand trial on Sept. 2.
