This was an emotional ceremony. Holding the loved ones they lost close to their hearts...The people of Graniteville gathered to remember those who lost their lives in the train crash and chemical spill just two years ago. Donna Ansey remembers the phone call that told her Henry Laird was dead.

"Six O'clock that evening when we got the word, it was devastating. Your heart just gets ripped out of your chest," said Donna Ansley whom lost a friend.

Laird was working at the Woodhead plant when the chemical spill happened.

"Henry and Charles died trying to save lives at Woodhead. Getting everybody out. And when it came time for them to leave the building. They were overcome by gas clouds," said Donna Ansley.

The second anniversary brings hope of survival to the people of Graniteville. But Ansey says she's not keeping her fingers crossed.

"I want to believe that but right now it's hard. People not only lost their loved ones but they lost their jobs. A lot of them haven't been able to get jobs since the closing of the mills," said Donna Ansley.

Nine people died that day. And as the years go by their memories will always live on.

"The pain is still there. You try to focus that Henry is in a better place. But a part of you thinks he had a good place here too," said Donna Ansley.
