GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - According to State Senator Shane Massey Avondale Mills has appealed an injunction to the South Carolina Supreme Court and asked for an expedited hearing over the water payments in Graniteville and Vaucluse.
In August a judge ruled that people in Graniteville and Vaucluse didn't have to pay their July water bills because their water company did not give customers proper notice of an up to 700 percent rate increase.
Avondale Mills says it can no longer subsidize its water. The company's fabric plant was damaged after a deadly train accident and chemical spill in 2005.
