GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - More than two dozen people living in Graniteville want to testify about the water rate hike.

Lawmakers Shane Massey, Roland Smith and Tom Young have all filed a letter listing 27 residents who will testify at the next public opportunity.

The people want to make sure the water rate case moves forward instead of being dismissed, which is what Avondale Mills wants.

The company raised water rates in July for customers in Graniteville and Vaucluse.

In some cases, the bills skyrocketed 700%. The public can voice objections later this month.

Anybody believe Avondale Mills is 'spreading the love' in certain circles or is it just me?
