AUGUSTA, Ga. – A neighbor of Butch Palmer is accusing the Augusta Commissioner candidate of pulling a shotgun on him because his music was too loud.
NBC Augusta 26 News has learned Elliot Davis filed a police report and arrest warrant application against the candidate and community activist.
Davis says the incident happened last week.
He tells 26 News Palmer pulled out a shotgun and said, “If you don’t turn that music down, I’m going to shoot you.”
Palmer has been active in the Harrisburg community. He’s spoken out against criminal activity and slumlords in the Augusta neighborhood.
He is currently a candidate for the District 1 seat.
Richmond County Sheriff Ronnie Strength confirms the arrest warrant application against Palmer has been filed.
A civil court judge will have to decide whether a warrant will be issued against Palmer.
A court date is set for November 6.
