GROVETOWN, Ga. - It's official. Georgia State Patrol's new office for Troop E in Grovetown is up and running.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday. The new facility has more than 8,000 square feet.

It also has a state-of-the art radio room that covers twenty one counties

“Day to day it keeps our troopers safe. We have them plotted on our maps, we see where they're at all the time. When they make traffic stops we know if the person is a good guy or bad guy. So, the troopers are safer than they've ever been," said Bill Amos, Troop E Communications Chief, Georgia State Patrol.

The new building replaces the Thomson location and was completed two months ahead of schedule.
