Fort Gordon remembers Evans soldier killed in Fort Hood attack

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Thursday, Fort Gordon remembered an Evans soldier
who was killed in the Fort Hood attack.

Friends, family and fellow soldiers celebrated the life of Staff Sergeant Justin DeCrow.

He was an instructor at Fort Gordon for seven years.

Several troops and the Patriot Guard Riders attended the memorial service.

"In this case we consider him killed in action in the war on terror and that's why so many people came in the middle of the week to show their respect," said Joe Padgett, Patriot Guard Riders.

DeCrow was one of 13 soldiers killed at Fort Hood on November 5.
