AIKEN, S.C. - Aiken Public Safety officers are making sure they're ready to patrol the roads this holiday season.

Instructors refreshed officers from all over South Carolina on the usual course of action when pulling over a drunken driver during a week long class.

Officers honed up on different sobriety tests including the eye test, one-leg test and the walk and turn test.

Officer Jeremy Hembree was one of the instructors.

“We train more officers to be more efficient in driving under the influence enforcement especially coming now during the holiday season traffic fatalities will probably be on the rise we want everyone to go home safely,” Hembree said.

Aiken Public Safety says for every four traffic deaths in Aiken County, there is one homicide.

Two of those deaths are alcohol-related.

i believe that the Aiken County Public Safety Police Department is intentionally profiling people only for there own capital gain of revenue to put towards there own city's agenda. I'm all about saving lives but i work hard for my money and what i see everyday going on around Aiken High school is profiling and Racketeering, and that is wrong plain and simple.
