AIKEN, S.C. - A game of rough housing turned deadly when a man was stabbed to death by his friend with a knife, according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.
The stabbing happened in the front yard of a residence on Partridge Bend Road near New Ellenton around 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says Dancer Wayne Richter, 20, was stabbed multiple times by his “friend” Allen Tufano.
Witnesses say the two had been “drinking, scuffling and rough housing all day,” at about 9:00 Tufano grabbed a knife and stabbed his friend.
Richter was pronounced dead at Aiken Regional Medical Center Emergency Room just before 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
Tufano is in the Aiken County Detention Center. He's charged with Murder, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
The corner’s office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this homicide case.
This is the 14th homicide in Aiken County in 2009.
