Man charged with armed robbery after turning himself in

AIKEN, S.C. - A man has been charged with armed robbery after turning himself into police Wednesday morning.

Lt. David Turno of Aiken Public Safety tells NBC Augusta 26 News that Shaun Benson's father made arrangements for his son to turn himself in after seeing his son's photo in connection with Tuesday morning's robbery of the Kangaroo Express on Whiskey Road.

Benson is currently being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
