AUGUSTA Ga- 'Tis the season for giving. A family well known for helping others is experiencing the joy of receiving.

The Jordans are a loving family that has always believed in putting people first and helping those in need, especially during Christmas time. But this year things were different.

“About a year ago I started having problems with my knee, and going back and forth to the doctor. They put me on some narcotic type of drugs, and I couldn't operate the machine or forklift that I was doing,” said George Jordan, husband and father.

George's injury forced him to go on disability. His wife Angela still works, but they haven't been able to make ends meet and they thought Christmas wasn't going to come this year.

The family has always blessed those in need, but this year is on the receiving end of kindness.

“This family was nominated and we are out here just helping give back to them and being a blessing to them,” said Eddie Kennedy of Great Deals on Furniture.

Thanks to a group of area businesses and NBC Augusta 26 the Jordans are now set for a merry Christmas, complete with a tree and even gifts.

Now as the season of giving continues for this family all they have now to give is the thanksgiving in their hearts

"It puts a smile on my face to see that people giving back to those that give," George said.

Several business helped make Christmas possible for the Jordans, including Brooks Financial, Great Deals on Furniture, Phoenix Printing, Traditional Construction, Accent on Hair, Wifesaver, and Milton Rueben Motors.

Selfless acts always bring good to others and yourself. Compassion is the root to you finding your own happiness. I hope this family finds itself back on its feet soon.
