AUGUSTA, Ga. - Richmond County Schools kicked off the BELL After School Program in 14 elementary schools and two middle schools.

A ribbon cutting for BELL, or Building Educated Leaders for Life, was held at Collins Elementary.

BELL provides mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment services to a total of 480 students who need additional after school academic support.

"We are fortunate at BELL to have a track record and evidence to support that if children have learning opportunities outside the school, they can excel," said President and CEO of BELL Tiffany Cooper Gueye.

The schools that BELL will be serving are: Bayvale, Blythe, Collins, Gracewood, Jamestown, Jenkins-White, Meadowbrook, Lamar-Milledge, Monte Sano, Southside, Terrace Manor, Wheeless Road, Wilkinson Gardens, Windsor Spring, Langford and Murphey Charter.

I am glad about this because the only other program that they had was only offered to students who recieved free and reduced lunch not too any student who needed based on grades which I thought was very wrong..This program is for those who need it based on grades and disabilities...NOT INCOME WHICH IS HOW IS SHOULD BE...You can recieve free or reduced lunch and get straight A's and not need the tutoring but still get it through the other program how is that right? This goes based on need for grades and disabilities.....
