The Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority is working out a contract dispute with the Augusta Lynx. There's a question over the cost of equipment use in the Civic Center.
Authority members say the team owes them $12,000 for the use of the sound system and spotlight. The Lynx organization claims it hasn't been charged for the items in the past and shouldn't be required to pay now.
"The best way for us to get the matter resolved and get the year started off on the good foot so to speak is for us to not have the Lynx pay the $12,000 they owe us for the sound system for this year but for the ensuing years the next four years of the contract to pay for those changes," said Authority Chairperson Annie Rogers.
The Lynx could reject the authority's offer.
The team is the only permanent tenant at the Civic Center.
