BALTIMORE (AP)- A federal judge in Baltimore has sentenced a 27-year-old Jordanian man to four years in prison for trafficking
in fake Viagra pills.
The U.S. Attorney's office says Iyad Dogmosh received more than 38,000 fake Viagra pills from Egypt, sold some and kept the rest in Maryland storage facility that was raided by police in 2007.
Dogmish had pleaded guilty to selling about 2,000 counterfeit Viagra pills under a plea agreement.
Authorities say lab tests showed the pills looked legitimate, but didn't have the active ingredient in the real medication.
Federal prosecutors said the wholesale cost of the pills was about $400,000.
