Part-time preacher has pleaded not guilty to murder and sexual abuse charges

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A part-time Alabama preacher has pleaded not
guilty to murdering his wife and storing her body in a freezer.

Anthony Hopkins is also accused of sexually abusing a teenage relative who prosecutors say is pregnant with his baby.

The 37-year-old Hopkins also pleaded not guilty in a Mobile court today to separate charges of sexual abuse, rape, sodomy and incest.

The judge has set bond at $750,000 on the murder charge and $10,000 on each of the sex charges.

Prosecutors describe Hopkins as a flight risk, noting he once went AWOL from the Army and has ties in at least four other states.

The teen's disclosure of the alleged sexual abuse led police to the body in the freezer a week ago.

Investigators are waiting for it to thaw to conduct an autopsy.
