Malfuncation Causes Carbon Monoxide Detector Recall

By NBC News

An alarm malfunction prompts the recall of almost 300,000 carbon monoxide detectors.

The alarm on the Fire-X 10,000 series carbon monoxide alarms and 12,000 series carbon monoxide/smoke combo alarms can double chirp when it senses c-o.

The problem.. the double chirp is supposed to signal that the detector should be taken out of service.

The alarms were made between last June and this past February.
