Aiken County coroner releases bicyclist victim's name

NBC Augusta has learned the name of the bicyclist hit and killed Tuesday in Aiken County.

43-year-old Noel Barrett died early Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car. It happened on Urguhard Drive in Beech Island.

The Aiken county coroner says Barrett was on his way home from an unknown location a little after midnight.

Barrett was wearing a dark shirt and gray jogging pants at the time of the accident.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is still looking for the driver of the vehicle. They are holding a press conference this afternoon. We’ll have the latest Tuesday night at six.

This is the 17 traffic fatality in Aiken County.
