Teen attacked with fireworks on his first day at work

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A teen trying to earn money over the summer to pay for his cell phone and car insurance is recovering after he was attacked with fireworks on his first day on the job.

Sixteen-year-old Jacob Robinson's family says someone threw lit fireworks through his car window Friday night as he stopped to
asked for directions as he delivered food in Myrtle Beach.

Authorities say the fireworks burned Robinson on 15 percent of
his body.

His father says he is recovering at a burn center in Augusta, Ga.

Horry County police have charged 24-year-old Marcus Rush of Myrtle Beach with assault and battery with intent to kill.

Jail officials say he has not retained an attorney.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports Rush was a three-sport star in high school and received a scholarship to Hampton University, but struggled in college.
