A long serving police chief will call it quits soon. North August Chief of Public Safety Lee Wetherington says he will retire in February after 37 years with the department.

He served as chief for 11 of those years. He says he wants to spend more time with his family.

Wetherington says his decision has nothing to do with his suspension last month. He was suspended for sending a sexually explicit email to several co-workers.
