Solicitor: Try teen as adult in 8-year-old's death

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Greenville prosecutor says he wants to
try a 14-year-old boy as an adult in the death and sexual assault
of an 8-year-old girl.

Solicitor Bob Ariail said Tuesday that he has filed a motion asking that Family Court waive its jurisdiction over the teen's case and allow him to be tried as an adult.

Deputies found the body of 8-year-old Dymia Janae Woody earlier
this month, a day after relatives reported her missing. Authorities
said she died of asphyxia and had been sexually assaulted.

The 14-year-old boy was charged the next day with murder and
first-degree sexual conduct.

The teen's attorney said he had no comment on the request. A
date for a Family Court judge to consider Ariail's motion has not
been set.

I Agree!! At 14 he knows what is right and wrong. He needs to be taken off the streets before he does it again!!!!

I AGREE !!! Charge him as an adult. What he did was absolutely an evil planned out act upon an innocent child. It seems that more and more murders are being committed by younger people. If they are tried as a "child", they will continue on the path of destruction and cause pain to others and their families. Murder is murder regardless of someone's age. Send him to prison so that he can't hurt another innocent child or family.
