Regional sports network makes deal to broadcast Gamecock athletics

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - If you want to see your favorite University of South Carolina athletic teams, you'd better subscribe to SportSouth.

The regional sports network on Tuesday announced a multiyear TV rights deal for regional cable and satellite rights to broadcast
several Gamecock events.

The agreement would include eight live men's basketball games, four women's basketball games and eight baseball games each year.

The deal includes 12 ``encore presentations'' of South Carolina
football.

SportsSouth would also broadcast the weekly shows for football coach Steve Spurrier, men's basketball coach Darrin Horn, first-year women's basketball coach Dawn Staley and baseball coach Ray Tanner.
