AIKEN – Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC, the Savannah River Site’s new contractor for management and operations, has announced the appointment of six new senior managers to its management team.
Rich Slocum is Vice President of Site Infrastructure and Project Support Services. He has responsibility for the operation, maintenance and management of the Department of Energy's SRS facilities and infrastructure. He also provides a variety of landlord services and is the functional leader for construction work processes at the Site, overseeing direct construction execution by SRNS. Prior to joining SRNS, Slocum served as vice president of closure services and infrastructure for Fluor Hanford in Richland, WA.
As Director of Strategic and Mission Planning, Dan Evans is responsible for strategic and mission planning, risk management, economic development initiatives and systems engineering and integration. Prior to joining SRNS, Evans was a Project Director with Fluor Daniel. Evans has a background of 28 years of technical and management experience in nuclear fuel cycle and energy issues.
In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Peggy Davis is responsible for the financial operations of SRNS as well as prime contract management and subcontracts. Davis has 25 years of experience in business operations and finance, supporting DOE contracts. Most recently she spent four years as Controller at Fluor Hanford. She has also managed the Business Management Systems at Hanford which provide financial, human resources, supply chain, and project reporting systems to multiple contractors at the site. Davis has also managed over $2 billion in pension and benefit assets and lead the financial team in two separate integrated business system implementations.
Mary Ann Benischek is the Director of Information Technology and Documentation and Information Services. She brings over 27 years of diverse functional and program experience from Northrop Grumman. Her most recent position was in 2005 as vice president, Cost Competitiveness, where she conducted Non-Advocate Reviews, Independent Cost Evaluations, and was involved in business process improvements.
As Director of Special Projects, Gary Coxon is responsible for interfaces with offsite entities. This includes a wide variety of activities in support of the Office of the President and the entire SRNS leadership team. Coxon is facilitating the interface with the SRNS Board of Directors, and assisting the Board with its organization and approach to corporation governance. He is establishing the interfaces and mechanisms for corporate reachback and involvement of the parent companies. Coxon also provides senior level staff support to the Office of the President.
Jim Gaver is Director of Public Affairs. Prior to joining SRNS, Gaver co-founded Palmetto Partnership Consulting Services, LLC, an Aiken-based public relations firm. Before founding the Palmetto Partnership, Jim served for nearly 30 years as the public face of the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Operations Office (SR), 25 years of that time as the Director of DOE’s Office of External Affairs.

SRNS is responsible for management and operations at DOE’s Savannah River Site with a workforce of approximately 6,200 employees. Headquartered in Aiken, SRNS is a limited liability company formed by defense, energy, technology and manufacturing industry leaders Fluor, Northrop Grumman and Honeywell.
