USC Aiken tops 'America's Best Colleges' list

The University of South Carolina Aiken has been named one of America's Best Colleges, and this isn't the first time.

The university was ranked number one in the category for public baccalaureate colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report.

USC Aiken has been named number one in this category four times before.

The University's Director of Admissions says the number one ranking has helped in convincing some students to attend the school.

“It's wonderful for people here on campus to say great things about the place but when outside folks are showing that some of the things we're doing are being seen externally that means a lot more to students in some cases,” Andrew Hendrix said.

USC's main campus in Columbia is also getting some recognition from U.S. News & World Report. It is listed as one of the top ten up-and-coming schools in the nation.
