Woman arrested in South Carolina accused of escaping prison 35 years ago

PIEDMONT, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Marshals have arrested a woman they
say escaped from a Michigan prison 35 years ago.

The Marshals Service says 59-year-old Barbara Corley was
arrested Friday at a home in Piedmont. She was being held at
Anderson County Detention Center.

WYFF-TV in Greenville reported that Corley was arrested at the
home she shared with her husband, Devon Corley Jr. Reached by phone

Friday night, Devon Corley did not want to comment on the case.

U.S. Marshal Johnny Mack Brown says Corley, who was formerly
known as Barbara Glenn, had established an entirely new life in
South Carolina.

Investigators told WYFF that Glenn was in prison for assault,
writing bad checks and carrying a concealed weapon when she escaped from the Detroit House of Corrections in Plymouth, Michigan in 1973.
