Hammonds Ferry gets first business

By Dustin Blanchard dblanchard@nbcaugusta.com

Business is moving in to the newest riverfront development in North Augusta.

Edge Salon and Spa is the first business to open in the Hammond's Ferry community in North Augusta.

David Towles is the new salon's owner.

He says, it has taken a while for businesses to move in to Hammonds Ferry, but he expects more to follow very soon.

"It's amazing, people said there wouldn't be much foot traffic, but I'm getting new clients every day," Towles said. "Business is coming to me."

The neighborhood's next business, a new cafe, should open next month.
