Deadly Accident in Aiken County

Aiken Public Safety and South Carolina Highway patrol officers are investigating a deadly wreck.

The Aiken County Coroner tells NBC Augusta Brendan Wilson crashed on Silver Bluff Road around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

An Aiken Public Safety officer says Wilson refused to stop after an officer tried to pull him over for suspicion of driving under the influence.

They say the officer started pursuing Wilson on Whiskey Road.

The Aiken County Corner says speed is considered a factor in the crash.

The coroner's office is waiting on a toxicology report.

Wilson lived in Aiken County.
