Iraqi war vet beaten to death in SC bar

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 30-year-old Iraqi war
veteran has been beaten to death with chairs and a table inside a
Greenville nightclub.

Greenville County deputies say Christopher Duckett was sitting
at the bar when he was attacked around 2 a.m. Thursday by two men
and wasn't breathing by the time paramedics arrived.

Master Deputy Michael Hildebrand says the beating of Duckett was
apparently connected to a fight between his friends and
acquaintances of the suspects.

The coroner's office plans an autopsy.

Deputies say no arrests have been made.

It wasn't clear when Duckett served or where he was stationed.
