Deadly car accident in Edgefield County

NBC Augusta 26 News has learned one person died in an early morning car accident in Edgefield County Tuesday.

That accident happened on Highway 19 near Trenton around 6:30 a.m.

Three cars were involved and all traffic on the highway was stopped while South Carolina Highway Patrol investigates the accident.

Investigators tell us the driver killed was not wearing his seat belt. The Edgefield County coroner is waiting to release the victim's name until his family is notified.

Two other victims are recovering in the hospital.
