Parents: Slain anchorwoman was sexually assaulted

Tools

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The parents of the television anchorwoman who was beaten to death in Arkansas say there's evidence their daughter was sexually assaulted.

Guy and Patti Cannady said Monday on NBC's "Today'' that the family still has many questions about the Oct. 20 death of their daughter, Anne Pressly, who was originally from Greenville, South Carolina.

Guy Cannady said police theorize that Pressly interrupted a random robbery, but he isn't convinced.

He said there's evidence of sexual assault and that Pressly broke hand fighting her attacker.

The suspect, Curtis Lavelle Vance, was arrested last week after authorities linked him to the killing through DNA evidence.

Vance has been charged with capital murder. He also is accused of raping a school teacher in April.
