AIKEN, S.C. - Officials at the University of South Carolina Aiken say basketball player Javonte Clanton was killed in a car accident in West Virginia early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened just hours after Clanton played for the Pacers, who lost to Augusta State University in the Southeast Regional basketball finals Tuesday night.

Tae, I prayed for my son, Sterling to meet a humble, focused, honest, caring, and trustworthy friend when he went off to college. One that he could call, "A True Friend". One that he could trust with his life and one that shared the same values as he did. God answered My prayers when he met YOU.I thank God for letting our family know and love you for this short period of time. We loved you as one of our own! We will always love U and will hold our memories of U close in our hearts..MOMA PIPPI!
