SC gov resurfaces after mystery trip to Argentina

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP)- South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is resurfacing after a mystery five-day absence and plans to speak to reporters for the first time.

Sanford scheduled a news conference for 2 p.m. Wednesday at his
office in Columbia. This comes hours after he told a newspaper he
had traveled to Argentina... contradicting his staff's explanations
that he had been hiking the Appalachian Trail since last Thursday.

The State reported that Sanford arrived Wednesday morning at
Atlanta's international airport on a flight from Buenos Aires.

Sanford's spokesman Joel Sawyer declined to comment Wednesday
morning to The Associated Press. The governor did not return cell
phone messages seeking comment. Sanford's critics are slamming his
administration for lying to the public.

I am just curious who was paying for all these trips to Argentina to see his mistress? I don't think that the tax payers who provide the governors salary realized that included expensive trips out of the country. Why do morals and values have no value in public office? When did it become ok to not know the difference between right and wrong? I dont want a governer that doesnt know the difference between right and wrong. If someone can lie to the people he loves what else can he lie about?

Gov Sanford should do the right thing for once and resign from office. Prayers go out for his wife and children. His political career better be over. It is outrageous the morals in our society today!

Deborah I am totally appauled that you call this LOSER a MAN?? He spent FATHER'S DAY with ANOTHER WOMAN rather than HIS FAMILY. This speaks volumes about your MORALS and what you are willing to accept. You must be fat and bald and willing to deal with anything that comes your way. I feel sorry for you. They should IMPEACH him and get his sorry A@@ out immediately.

I am impressed with the action taken by the Governor today. It takes a real MAN to stand up and admit that he has made a mistake. I feel he has a lot to offer our country in showing that he is man enough to admit when he has done wrong. It seems to be okay for some to make these same mistakes and it is excused. This man is HUMAN! He is not GOD! People should sweep around their back doors before they sweep around others. I do not condone what he did, but I do appreciate him admitting to it.
