Flour adding 100 jobs in SC for military contractGREENVILLE, S.C. (AP)- Flour Corp. plans to add more than 100 jobs in South Carolina under a new contract to build and operate military bases in Afghanistan. The Greenville News reported Thursday the contract with the U.S. Flour already employs about 2,500 people in Greenville. Its contract calls for the management of power, food service and transportation at 62 bases in Afghanistan, as well as building and managing another dozen bases. Bob Jones is the senior vice president for operations in Greenville. He says the number of Greenville employees working on the contract will increase from about 165 to about 300. Jones says the new positions are in project control and management, finance, procurement, estimating, subcontracting and human resources. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
