GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - People living in Graniteville who saw a spike in their July water bills will have to pay up!
The South Carolina Supreme Court struck down the temporary restraining order Judge Jack Early granted customers in August. That means, the bills are now due to Avondale Mills.
In some cases, people's bills skyrocketed 700%.
The court said Judge Early did not have jurisdiction to grant the restraining order.
Some customers are considering appealing the State Supreme Court's decision to the Public Service Commission.
Tuesday, Valley Public Service Authority will meet to discuss taking over water services for Avondale Mills’ customers.
