Snow headed to South Carolina?

Tools

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A strong winter storm could leave a
coating of snow and sleet in northern South Carolina and another
soaking rain along the coast.

Forecasters say areas from Greenville to Rock Hill could see wet
snow and sleet Friday morning, but the precipitation should quickly
change over to a cold rain without any icing problems on roads or
trees.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch
along the coast from Charleston south and the same storm could
bring up to three inches of rain to areas that have seen up to five
inches of rain in the past week.

Forecasters say the rain combined with tides running a foot
above normal could cause flooding.

A cold winter rain is forecast for the rest of the state.
