Mother's Day will be four times as special this year for a mother from Warrenton.

Last year we told you how a surrogate gave birth to her quadruplets in California.

Taking care of four children may seem like a lot of work, but for a mother and her family it's been a blessing.

"Each one has their own thing and you have to keep going until you figure out each one and then you can help them progress," Deborah Kalume said.

The four were born last May in California to a surrogate mother. Taking care of the quadruplets has been quite the challenge.

"Everything revolves around four babies and that changes everything," Kalume said.

Mom says she spends at least $600 a month on baby formula and uses at least a thousand diapers a month. Church donations help as well.

"You don't have one solution for all four of them. You have to figure out four different solutions for all four of them," Kalume said.

After nearly a year, all four are now healthy and ready to celebrate Mother's Day. Mom's message, keep the message of surrogate mothers alive.

“There are so many people that suffer from infertility and it seems like it's something nobody talks about. If we had kept quiet and never sought it out, we would never have had this blessing," Kalume said.
