NBC Augusta has learned John Paul Jones, Jr., has been shot to death in the Burke County town of Waynesboro. He was 22. Chaquita Ellison, 19, was shot in the neck Tuesday.

Investigators say the shooting happened at a house at 1005 Fuller Street around 2:30 a.m. We're told someone came to the house and opened fire.

Police say the gunman used an assault rifle to fire bullets through the house on seemingly every side.

Frank Givens was Jones' co-worker at this Waynesboro car wash. He says the news was too much for some to bear.

"People really liked that young man and it hurt me to death to know that somebody would do something like that to somebody so young," said Givens.

Investigators have little clues as to why this happened, but say it could be drug related. They found a large amount of crack, powder cocaine and marijuana inside the house.

But they need help from anyone who can help them tie the pieces of this violent crime together.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is now handling the case. They've interviewed several people, but still need more help.
