NBC has learned the Augusta woman accused of hiring someone to kill her husband in 1986 has waived extradition and will be sent back to North Carolina to face that charge.
The Stanly County, North Carolina Sheriff tells NBC Augusta, 76-year-old Betty Neumar waived extradition today and should be back in Stanly County by the end of next week.
The sheriff also says they have not arrested the suspected gunman in the shooting death of Neumar's husband, Thomas Harold Gentry. He was found shot to death inside his home near Norwood, North Carolina.
Richmond County deputies arrested Neumar on Wednesday afternoon after being tipped off by the Stanly County Sheriff's Office.
Right now she is being held in the Richmond County Jail.
