Richmond County deputy charged with child molestation

A Richmond County sheriff's deputy is charged with child molestation after a yearlong investigation. He's accused of repeatedly kissing a 14-year-old female neighbor.

Deputy Lindon Haworth was arrested Tuesday. He is scheduled for a bond hearing on Thursday.

Deputy Haworth has been suspended without pay since last June, when the family of the girl complained he had inappropriate contact with her while she watched movies at his house.

Haworth received a Purple Heart for injuries he suffered in a mortar attack while serving in Iraq.

Its about time this girl has stepped up and reported this. I feel bad for her, for the pain it has caused her and her family. It sickens me to hear that someone that is suppose to be thought of as a hero would do this to a child. My heart goes to her and her family.

this is completely unbelievable. The Department has nothing but the word of a forteen year old. No one to back up her story and the family and child are both out of line. They have known this man for years and why do this now my thought Money. He will be found not guilty and I hope he fills and laws suit on family. They do not care what lyes are told and how they can ruin a a persons life with he said she said stuff.
