A Texas company is making it possible for you to buy and sell your guns online.

Police across the country have some obvious concerns, but the company says there are already safe guards in place.

Just hours after launching, there's already more than $1 million in inventory listed for sale on the website cheaperthandirt.com.

CEO Michael Tenny says "we've already had a lot of dealers and individuals list firearms and accessories."

The idea to offer free ads to gun enthusiast started last October when employees realized other online classifieds wouldn't touch firearm sales.

Michael Tenny says "Craig's List says they don't want you to put firearms on there. Ebay will not allow it. And because that's our industry we thought there should be an opportunity for people who are gun enthusiasts to have a market where they can buy and sell."

Law enforcement officers say the obvious concern is that it will be easier for buyers and sellers to lie about who they are, but the company's CEO says there are guidelines in place to keep that from happening.

Michael Tenny says "the individual in texas and in Pennsylvania can legally buy from each other, they just can't legally ship. So the guy in Pennsylvania carries it to a dealer, the dealer ships it to a dealer in Texas and the individual in Texas fills out the paperwork."

You would have to repeal the Gun Control Act of 1968 to make it legal to mail order guns online. This hasn't happened yet. This news article is BS. Guns online have to be transferred through a licensed gun dealer still and this has been happening for a long time. This is not news.
