Deadly car accident in Columbia County

A Martinez man was killed in a car accident on Wednesday night.

Columbia County investigators tell NBC Augusta Vernon Ashley was killed on Hereford Farm Road after he drove into oncoming traffic.

Ashley was driving on Hereford Farm Road at Lawrence Drive when he crossed the centerline hitting another car in the westbound lane. That driver, David McCaslin and his passenger, Kincaid Fairburn, were taken to the hospital.
