You can call him Al, maybe Gordon after the highway next door, or just call him unwelcome

"There's an alligator out there?" asked Lisa Overton. "That's scary."

This is Overton's first time walking Hector along New Savannah Road.

She says her best friend could be gator bait

"He'd want to get Hector," she worried. "Me too."

Overton says if she sees the gator, she'll say 'see you later.'

"I would grab my dog and run."

Folks nearby say the scaly swamp thing moved in a couple of weeks ago.

But Overton says she has no desire to see it.

"I'm just going to walk all the way around," she said.

The gator sighting has been reported to Georgia's Department of Natural Resources.

now I think all animals are beautiful, but they need to be taken care of in the right way ,find it and put it where it belongs, because if it came i=to me or my children, the animal is history and you wouldn't get a chance to take it where it suppose to be

A wetland area (pond, swamp, etc) is a gator's native habitat. Do you think that just because you build a house it will make the gators leave ? Wise up folks. If you don't like the native creatures, don't move in next door to them. They were here long before houses popped up. I hope the DNR can safely relocate the gator and not find the need to destroy it. I am also glad that no one has been hurt (human or animal).

If this is the same gator, he has been there awhile. My husband fishes there. We took pictures of him with our cell phone.
