Update: Third arrest made in knife incident at Academy of Richmond County

By Ashley Campbell acampbell@nbcaugusta.com

NBC Augusta has learned more about a knife being brought to the Academy of Richmond County.

Three teens are now charged in the incident.

Two of those, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, are current students at ARC.

The teen originally charged on Thursday is a former ARC student who was sent to alternative school last year for fighting.

Investigators said that student brought the pocket knife on campus and pulled a fire alarm.

He's also charged with having a sawed off shotgun off campus.

Officers say he was at the school visiting the 14-year-old girl.

Investigators tell NBC Augusta they don’t expect to arrest any other students.
