Trooper acquitted in civil rights case, will be reinstated

By NBC Augusta Staff

Greenville (SC).- South Carolina Trooper is acquitted for hitting a suspect with his car.

Lance Corporal Steven Garren was acquitted and reinstated after this video of him ramming a suspect with his car was released.

Garren later bragged on the tape that he deliberately hit the suspect.

A spokesperson from the Department of Public Safety says Garren will return to his job Monday.

The Spokesperson said the fact the case went to trial was punishment enough for the trooper.

Garren was charged with using unreasonable force that violated the suspect's civil rights.

You know all this race stuff is crap! If I had been the cop, it wouldn't have mattered if the fleeing suspect was blue, I would have hit him! When a suspect flees, that should take away a LOT of his civil liberties. The policeman used the car to stop him. I say hurray! Would this have been such a big deal if a black cop ran down another black? I doubt it. I'm surprised the NAACP and Civil Liberties Union don't have their noses in this somehow!

Wonder what you would say if it was you or a family member of your Forgiven. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Who cares the dirt bag should not have ran, it was his own fault.

Wonder what would have happen if the suspect was white and the trooper black. Yes, it's all about race!!!
