Georgia tax refunds delayed for thousands

ATLANTA - Some Georgians will have to wait until Labor Day to get their state tax refund.

Almost 500,000 taxpayers haven't gotten their refunds yet. Several thousand tax returns are still sitting in a mail room waiting to be processed.

The Georgia Department of Revenue is one of the many state agencies forced to make budget cuts, and laid off 300 people.
