Wendy's/Arby's Group earns $14.9 million

Tools

ATLANTA (AP)- Wendy's/Arby's Group Inc. says its moved to a profit of $14.9 million in the second quarter after losing money the year before.

Profit at the country's No. 3 fast-food chain amounted to 3 cents per share. That includes the impact of a 3-cents-per-share charge.

Last year, the company was called Triarc Cos. It lost $6.9 million, or 7 cents per share.

The quarters aren't directly comparable because the company's
figures last year didn't include Wendy's operations. Triarc bought
Wendy's in September.

Revenue this quarter was $912.7 million.

Analysts expected the company to earn 6 cents per share on
revenue of $928.1 million. Those estimates typically exclude
one-time items.

Systemwide same-store sales fell 0.4 percent.

With the price of a meal at Arby's, you'd think the company would be making a great profit. Every time I go to Arby's it's busy with customers! The food is great in my opinion, but I just barely pass the credit check to order something from their menue! LOL
